Images documenting a "Grand Circle Route" tour taken by James M. Young in 1931. The "Grand Circle Route" tour carried passengers from Seattle to Seward, Alaska, via steamship through the Inside Passage. From Seward, passengers boarded the Alaska Railroad for Fairbanks, took a riverboat to Whitehorse, B.C., and boarded the White Pass and Yukon Railroad for Skagway where another steamship took them back to Seattle.
